Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

property

I am being sued. I haven't yet submitted filed an answer. Attorney is aware of asset. I grant deeded my home today. I plan to ask the judge for payment arrangements and was wondering when the attorney will find out if i dont tell him. He has already stated he will not take payments on the debt and I will be forced to sell the home. So I dumped it.

It wasn't a wise move to transfer the home to someone else after suit was filed. The court could set aside the transfer as fraudulent to avoid the potential debt, and it'll make you look quite bad.

Why don't you get yourself an attorney? Often attorneys are able to work things out when unrepresented defendants cannot.

What did you get in exchange for the asset? If 0 or less than fair market value, the asset may still be able to be pursued. There are limits to what they can go after in regards to personal residence and forcing sales.
