Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

How do I put a lein on a company that owes my company commission

We had a verbal agreement with a company in CA that if we sent them deals to get funde they would split the commissions with us. They currently owe us $5800.00. Being located in New Jersey I do not know where to go to put a lein or judgement against them.

You cannot just put a lien or judgment in California. You have to file a lawsuit. Small Claims Court goes up to $5,000 and an attorney cannot represent you. You would have to appear in person. I could represent you, but I would need to see your documentation.
