Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I received a bill for a bill collector for a medical office visit that had interest added. Can the debt collector legally charge interest from the date of my office visit or when I first got a bill from my doctor?

They should only be able to charge from the date that you bill became late, not from the date you appeared at the doctor. That means they should give you a grace period to pay and cannot charge from your first visit.
