Received the CM-110 case management statement in the mail from the attorney who filed the limited civil suit in l.a. county. What is this and what does it mean? Under discovery: says party (defendant) description: interrogatories??? date: to be served line #2 ( defendant ) description: request for dismissal date: to be served?? #20 meet and confer? (we have not met or spoken to anyone?) #16 other motions: motion for summary judgment is likely? Can you explain what this all means to us (the defendants) Conference set for next month, do we appear for this?

At the case management conference, the court will set mediation, trial dates and further events. The court also will want to know how the case is progressing toward trial.
You should fill out your own case management statement and send the original to the court and a copy to plaintiff's attorney. If you have not met and conferred, you should check the "no" box, although you should attempt to meet and confer at least on dates for discovery and potential trial dates.
You need to attend the Case Management Conference. Discovery and interrogatories are depositions and written questions submitted by one party to the other party. A motion for summary judgment is a motion for judgment without going to trial because there are no triable issues of fact.
