Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

received a promissory note from former employer. It states in part "I acknowlege that this note does not evidence credit primarily for personal, household, or family purposes." please explain.

It prevents the employer from making you jump through a bunch of proceedural hoops if you have to sue to enforce the debt. There are a bunch of extra proceedural steps and limitations that apply to personal debt collection that do not apply if the debt is not for personal, household or family purposes.
