Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
We just received a summons, for being sued by a law office representing Wells Fargo for $7,792.52 plus interest at 9.90% from 3.17.2010. We are financially struggling, what do we need to do next. We live in California

If you owe it, make payment arrangements or contact a bankruptcy attorney.

There several things you can do: 1) try to work out a payment plan with Wells Fargo; 2) contact a bankruptcy attorney (although if this is your only debt, bankruptcy may not be right for you, but again, speak with an attorney); 3) file an Answer (or other responsive pleading) to the complaint, because if you do not Wells Fargo will take out a default against you (basically, you will be admitting everything Wells Fargo claims).
