Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I just recently had a creditor garnish my wages and I need it to stop immediately. What steps do I need to take quickly to ensure my wage aren't garnished before my next pay period? It appears I will have to file for bankruptcy as I living hand to mouth currently and barely holding on to a job.

Any swift information you can provide is greatly appreciated.

You are way late asking for help with this, and posting on the internet is only slowing you down further. Call a local lawyer and make an appointment. There is little likelihood that anything can be done before your next paycheck, but the longer you go without seeing a lawyer, the more trouble you will be in.
