Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I recently went to a facility for laser hair removal and signed a contract for 2 treatments for a certain amount of money. Since the treatments are expensive, the facility put me on monthly payments through a finance company. About a week later, after a lot of research, I decided I only wanted the one small area treated to see if it would even work and cancel the other and more expensive procedure. When I told the laser treatment facility of my decision, they said I had to make all of my payments for both procedures and then they would refund me for the treatment I didn't get. I found that odd, so I called the finance company I'm sending the payments to and asked them to reduce the total amount owed, but they said they already paid the total amount to the laser facility and either they or I would have to pay them back. So then I did some more research on the laser company's return policy only to find website after website of people complaining that they've never been refunded by this company after trying for up to 9 months. I'm happy to pay for the treatment I'm receiving, but is there any way I can get out of paying for the other treatment that I won't even be getting when it's obvious I'll never see the money again if I do pay them?
