Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Recouping an investment
I have some family members who invested quite a bit of money in a company based in Santa Clara CA. My mother has inquired about getting her money back (she desperately needs it) The company has basically given her the runaround and we would like to find a good attorney that can investigate the company and/or its financial status, take a look at her contract, and give us some advice on how to proceed, and/or take her case.
Also Im not exactly sure what type of attorney to contact, or how I might find a qualified one.
Your response would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Michelle

You are on the right track regarding anayzing the contract and investigating the company. You will probably want a securities lawyer or what is sometimes called a business law attorney. You can contact the Santa Clara County or San Francsico County Bar Association. (Their numbers should be available through information.) Feel free to contact me to discuss your case at my Northern California number: 408-205-5100.

Sounds like investigation is necessary. This is something we can do. We are a full-service law firm practicing in California. Check out our web-site: www.donnerlaw.com. We are Legal Warriors.
Information must be obtained on how the "investment" was made. Was it an equity contribution in exchange for stock in the company? Was it a loan made to the company? Did it involve the company at all or merely individuals involved in the company?
The documentation is necessary to be reviewed.
