Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Recovery of money

When I was a child I got injured at an amusement park and the park gave me 10,000 dollars. That money was put into an account that nobody had access to and only I could access it once I turn 18. I have been kicked out of the house and my parents refuse to give me the information pertaining the money once I turn 18. I do not wish to take my family to court and I was just wondering how would I go about finding out the necessary information about the money?

Re: Recovery of money

You can run your name in the computer at the local courthouse and see if there's an order pertaining to the money. More than likely, it was put in a blocked account at the bank where your parents banked at the time. If you need the money now for your well-being, you can seek legal assistance to help access it through a court order, as well.
