Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
renters rights
My former landlord is requesting payment for checks that did not clear due to closing of my account. I have written to her three seperate times( two of the letters she had to sign for) requesting copies of the checks. I informed her that I DO plan on paying her, yet I need to know the amount owed. I have yet to hear from her, it has been over a month. My question- What should I do? I want to pay her, yet I do not know thw amount. She seemed to be in a hurrry to get this resolved, yet she will not respond to any of my letters. Do I keep trying to contact her?

Re: renters rights
Look at your check register and determine which checks did not clear. Then make appropriate payment.
