replying to a summons
How do I answer a summons to appear. What forms do I use? I want to answer the complaint and ask for validation of the debt.

http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/forms/ and look for Answer-Contract. Make sure you assert affirmative defenses.
Then you can send out a Demand for Bill of Particulars, and also document requests.
