Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

am i reponsible for this debt?

a collection agency is billing me for a porta pottie delivered to my home that was arranged by a contractor doing bussiness at my house. the collection letter is adressed to the contractor with my address and has the word possible lien. the company was dealing with the contractor i had nothing to do with their arrangement. Im I still responsible to pay I was never contacted by the original company.

There is an entire body of law relating to mechanic's liens. Generally, certain creditors of a contractor are allowed to place mechanic's liens on an owner's property if the owner's property has received the benefit of the services. In your case I would need to know a little more about the situation. and examine the relevant documents.
