Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Can I repossess kitchen equipment due to a breach of contract?

My grandmother sold the contents of a commercial kitchen we owned. A short written contract was signed by her and the buyer. A payment record booklet was kept. Only 12 payments were made. None in the last 2 years or so. My grandmother has since passed away. I've been attempting to settle this account but have had no luck. Do I have the right to repossess the contents of the commercial kitchen?

Yes, but only if they willingly relinquish the equipment or with a court order.
