Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Resort Club Membership Contract

My son bought a membership in a Resort Camping Club 10 years ago but changed his mind within 72 hours and went back and cancelled it. He has no paperwork to prove that he did cancel. Now they are trying to collect on this contract....with interest.... making a total of over $11,000. They say they have notified him at different times re:payment but he has never received anything from them. They have agreed to accept $3800 instead of taking him to court. Can they collect on this?

Re: Resort Club Membership Contract

It sounds as though this action may be barred by the Statute of Limitations if certain requirements are met.
