Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

We have retained an attorney to file for bankruptcy. We informed a creditor that we were filing BK and tried to give them the attorney's name. He refused to accept the attorneys name. I informed him he had called my work phone, he they sent a letter to my employer. How do I get him to stop?

You have a free lawsuit against the creditor. You have an even better lawsuit against the creditor if the behavior continues after you file BK. Your attorney will know how to handle this.

Call your bankruptcy lawyer and make sure he sends this clown a letter that he represents you and to cease and desist from contacting you anymore and that all communications are to be directed to the attorney.

If your lawyer filed your BK then he can't call you. Sounds like this clowns actions are a violation of both the state and federal fair debt collection practices act. Your BK attorney should know about these laws and what to do.

Good luck.
