Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Round money being returned to finder

My 79 year old mother found $200.00 in a large chain drug store. She found it on the floor and turned in into the store manager, after checking back several times she was told that the money has not been claimed and they have not decided what they are going to do with it. They told it her takes 90 days.. its been over 60 now...before they make a decision.

It there something we can do do make sure that money gets back to her and not in the managers pocket? It should be rightfully hers.

I feel this guy is taking my mother for a ride with his answers.

Re: Round money being returned to finder

Why do you think your mom is entitled to this? Technically, it should escheat back to the state.
