Serve Papers?

Someone went to my old address at my families house to serve me papers but they did not know what it was for. How do I find out who is trying to serve me? I think it may be a credit collector. Do they do that?

You can look on the local court's website, search for your name in the civil index and see what pops up. You might also try the courts that serve the areas where you lived in the past two to four years.
