i was served small claims paperwork on march 3rd but the paperwork said i was served febuary 29 in hand righting is that legal

The only thing that matters is whether or not you were served at least 10 days before the hearing on the small claims case. If the person serving the papers signs a declaration under penalty of perjury that you were properly served, that statement will be deemed to be true in the absence of any evidence to the contrary. You should focus on proving any defense that you have rather than some minor procedural anomaly.
