Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I was just served a summons from a credit card company. I tried working with them but was too far behind since I had used a debt settlement company that was not doing anything on my behalf but making my credit worse. What is the next step I should take?

You were apparently unable to repay the debt. It follows that you would likewise be unable to tolerate loss of a 1/4 of your pay to a garnishment. Bankruptcy is a powerful means of busting that debt. Consult an attorney in your area.
