Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I signed up and paid 1st month for cable service was given it then shut off after 3 days due to a outstanding bill from 6 years ago is there a statute of limitation on this, if so can i still be denied service and could my wife be denied for service if put in her name

Statute of Limitations only apply to litigation. The cable company may have internal rules to cover this. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act this is on your credit report for 7 years...as far as wife goes it depends on the way her name was on the old account if she had any contractual liability... You may want to try and pay the old bill
