Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Which SOL applies?

I have an old debt, a written contract. The contract originated in California in 2000. I now live in Georgia. Which states Statute Of Limitations would apply to this situation?

The statute of limitation in California would apply on the contract. Have you received a collection letter from a collection agency?

Re: Which SOL applies?

The contract may state what state laws apply in its interpretation. If not it may depend upon where the contract was to be performed, or where it may be said that it was breached. The location of the defendant may be the controlling forum due to jurisdictional issues.

Re: Which SOL applies?

It depends on some facts not stated in your posting. It is fairly standard for the contract itself to determine which state's laws would apply.
