Sol in California
I was served a summons in Feb 2008 for an old debt ($1,800)that was charge off in Jan 2004.My last payment made to the original creditor was Oct 2003. I answered the complaint within 30 days. The third party that bought the old debt , is now asking for $9,999 and is continuing calling me at work/home to negotiate. Any advice?

Re: Sol in California
You had to raise the SOL exactly correctly in your answer, or else the issue is waived! There are also other mistakes you could make. You need to do discovery. I handle cases like these very inexpensively, please contact me if you are in SoCal. And of course if you have an attorney they can't call you.
