Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

SOL on filing lawsuits for Credit card debts

If I make a partial payment on a credit card debt afte the SOL has expired does this restart the statute of limitations in California. The statue of limitations had expired and I wasn't aware at the time and made a payment to the collection agency and now they are threatening to sue me?
