Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

My Son was scammed by a law firm named K and J Law Group, they offered to help him out with his student loan, instead they are forcing him to pay them and his loan has not been paid for a few months. Part of their agreement is that his Credit Score would not be affected but his Credit Score has tanked.

After reading the contract it appears that they expect to be paid a exorbitant amount of funds to do nothing.

How can I report them to the BAR. Sadly they do not exist outside of a broken website and a phone number.

A California lawyer named Amanda Johanson may be involved but none of her public information shows a link between her and K and J Law Group.

What can I do to both get my son out of this mess and preferably get the lawyers (if there are any) involved with the K and J student loan scam disbarred?

The following site should be interesting if you intend to file a complaint with the California State Bar: http://www.calbar.ca.gov/Attorneys/LawyerRegulation.aspx

The State Bar will investigate the complaint, and they will prosecute any discliplinary action. There is not much you can do beyond filing the complaint.

To pursue any claim against the law firm, you will of course need to know the name of the attorney(s) involved and obtain an address where they can be served. You should also investigate whether there are funds available to pay your son for the losses he suffered. Of course, you son must do what is necessary to rectify his situation with his student loan.

You likely will need to speak to an attorney that handles legal malpractice or complex civil claims for assistance. Indeed, if you may find that there is "strength in numbers" in pursuing this matter with others who feel they have been wronged, if only to see if the State Bar will make this case a priority.
