Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Splitting a joint credit card account

I would like to divide a joint credit card account. My ex girlfriend will not sign a letter

of seperation. The credit card company will not

divide the bill without it. She now lives in a different state so I cannot use small clamas court. The amount owed is $5.000. She is the primary card holder. I closed the account when she moved out. She has refused to help pay on the

account. How can I legaly divide the account.

Thank You.

Re: Splitting a joint credit card account

You cannot. the credit card company has the right to go after either of you and it is up to you to sue her if you end up paying her share (which you will).
