Is spouse responsible for dead spouse's credit card debt?

In Calif is the living spouse remains responsible under community property or othe laws for a dead spouse's credit card debt? Is the answer the same when the spouse who died had no remaining estaTE? The living spouse was not on the credit card and did not use it.

What should one do if the credit card company harrasses the living spouse?
