Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Out of state judgement

A finance company in Arizona is attempting to get a judgement against me on a repo car loan. If they get the judgement in Arizona, can they garnish my California wages? If I file bankruptcy, will that stop the procedures? The judgement is for twice the amount of what I owe on the loan. Will they be successful in obtaining a judgement for more than I actually owe them?

Depending on the facts of your case they will most likely be able to file the judgment in California, and garnish here.

They can collect more than what you owe if they are counting interest and penalties.

Good Luck
