Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Statue of limitations, for medical bills

We recieved a bill for 2,500.00 for a medical infusion treatment Two and a half years ago. There has been nothing until now and we assumed they had settled for the amount that Blue Cross had paid them. They now want us to pay the balance, because they did not stay caught up in their billing? After this amount of time do we have to pay or can we negotiate? What are our choices?

Negotiation of bills is always an option, sometimes it requires some force of attorneys and sometimes you can do it. The statute of limitatons on a written contract is 4 years, so probably within the time, based on the information you have provided.
