statute of limataions

My mom co-signed for a car for her now deeced husband 11 years ago. And the car dealership is now trying to attatch her wages. What is the statutet of limatations?

I concur with Mr. Cohen's statements. They cannot attach wages unless there was a lawsuit filed and a judgment entered. Judgments are good for 10 years and are renewable.

The statute of limitation applies to the deadline for filing a lawsuit. That would be 4 years after the breach of agreement, or 4 years after the last payment, whichever is later.

However, if they've already received a judgment, it's good for 10 years, and may be renewed for 10 more. You might have her check with the local court to see if there's a judgment.
