statute of limatations

i had a credit card approx. 5 years ago. through the death of my husband and losing my job due to my disability (arthritis) i could not pay my bills. this credit card was non secured and they have harrassed me constantly. now they are taking me to court and i am disabled and can not pay. is there a statute of limations on this collection

The statute of limitations runs 4 years from the date of your last payment or delinquency. You can also ask for a payment schedule from the court so you don't have to pay in a lump sum. If you are living on disability, all of your income may be exempt from any judgment the creditor obtains.
