It is either 2 or 4 years depending if the contract is written or oral. When was the last payment?

Four years for written agreements, and two years for oral agreements. Credit card debt, bank loans and the like are written agreements. Generally, the statute of limitation begins to run when the debtor fails to make a timely payment.
