Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

My name is Steve. I am 61 years old and have been unemployed for almost two years. I have no income and no money in the bank, no stocks, bonds, or IRAs. I am concerned because I can't afford medical health insurance and I own half of some property in the state of Washington with my sister, where my parents are buried. If some major medical problem came up that costs thousands of dollars, could I be forced to sell my half of the property to pay the medical bill?
