Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Storage lein on financed truck

I did a bunch of work on a friends truck. I learned later that the bank is trying to repo the truck. My freind doesn't want to pay for repairs/upgrades and has left the truck at my shop. I have no auto repair license nor business license can I still place a lein against the truck for repairs?

Re: Storage lein on financed truck

Probably not. In order to be able to put a lien against a vehicle, you have to be in the business of repairing vehicles, and you have to have a signed agreement saying you may put a lien against the vehicle.
