Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Do I Sue the Credit Card Company

Ive fallen behind on my credit card bills due to some financial issues. One credit card company is calling me continually. I believe under the fair credit act they are not allowed to harass me. They call my cell phone sometimes every 15-25 minutes. Id call this harassment! This has been going on for about 3 weeks. Per some advice from a friend, I started taking pictures of my cell phone to show the time date and number that had called me, so Id say I have proof. Although I had just started doing it so I don't have all of the calls on photo. Due to the harassment, if Im not mistaken I believe that Im entitled to compensation. How do I go about getting my compensation? Do I sue them?

I would be interested in more details on this. If they are calling you repeatedly in one day and talking with you, they are being abusive. We have sued out many cases like this in California.

if you are legitimately being harassed, according to FDCPA guidelines, you may sue or offset your damages from what is allegedly owed, and/or pursue punitive actions thru your attorney general's office and FTC.
