In this instance however I would recommend purchasing the NOLO Press Book called "I am being Sued - What do I do " ( I think that is what it is called - it is written for lay people - the other thing very helpful is to make an appointment with the samll claims advisor at the courthouse where the case is to be heard ASAP (If they filed as small claims) OR once again, re-ask this question as a paid questionon lawguru and specifically name one of two attorneys who took the time to reply to your question, I or Mr. Stone to respond - that way we can communicate to actually help you out.
