Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I am getting sued over credit card debt in California and am a good was to respond. I read about general denials an saw some examples but they were all older. I was looking for something a little more recent or if that is still the way to go.

A general denial is often not sufficient for an answer on a credit card debt. While it serves as a basic response, it often leaves open too many questions about your defense and the Court could allow the Plaintiff to get a judgment on grounds that may represent an affirmative defense.
I would suggest that you consult with a lawyer, for 1/2 to 1 hour and pay for the preparation of an answer that covers all of the affirmative defenses available. It would be a well spent $300. My office can consult with you if you desire.
