Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
can you be sued for half of a vacation??
i was set up by my friend to go to maui with one of her highschool guy friends.it was a last minute trip and he needed someone to go with.i didn't know him, but talked on the phone twice and agreed to go. i was told by my friend it was free and i didn't need a dime. he never discussed money ever.i met him twice before the trip, again it wasn't discussed. we got there and clearly there was a miscommunication.i told him i was under the impression it was paid for. we called our mutual friend and laughed about it. i agreed to take him to a couple of dinners which i did.the trip was fine till the last night.at the end of the trip we got into a fight b/c i think he started to like me and it wasn't reciprocated.i had to get another hotel room to get away from him. he now is saying hes gonna take me to court for 700$ for the plane/hotel ticket. he also was harassing me at the airport coming home which i have witnesses. he won't stop calling and text messaging me. hes crazy. i live 5 states away and he doesn't have my address.thank god. is there anyway he can take me to court or is this ridiculous????does the court examine all claims or throw out the stupid ones or do all claims go to court???please give me some help..

Any lawsuit would be laughed out of court. He who invites, pays. You owe him nothing.
