Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Summons

I have received a summons from court regarding a credit card debt. Apparently, my creditor wants to take me to court. I'm supposed to respond ASAP with the proper legal forms and I have no idea what kind of form I'm supposed to use to respond to the summons. I don't have a lawyer and cannot afford one. Please advise on how to proceed. I also want to respond to the suumons ASAP, please help me with the exact form I'm supposed to use and where to get it.

Re: Summons

You have to file with the court an answer to the complaint within 30 days of service. You will have to pay the court a filing fee or fill out an application for waiver of fee. The forms can be found at: http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/forms.cgi. However, you should consult a lawyer to assert affirmative defenses. The form leaves a space to fill them in but doesn't suggest what they should be. Good luck to you.
