If your friend simply refuses to pay, despite threats of a lawsuit, it may be time to sue her. There are several questions you need to answer: is your friend in California or Arizona? Do you have a note memorializing the loan? What does it say?

In order to put a lien on her property or attach her wages or bank account, you will need to get a judgment first by filing a lawsuit.
