Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Transferred my ex fiancee balance to my cc. now she refuses to pay

My girlfriend (then fiancee, and now ex fiancee) had 9000$ debt on cc with 18% interest. I offered to help her transfer it to my cc, with 3% till the life of the balance. She made couple of payments, and then I took over, helping her, as she wasn't working, and we were getting married.

Now, we broke up, and refuses to take the balance back, or continue payments. Can I take her to court? everything is documented, transfer from her cc, me paying the monthly minimum.

You can sue in small claims court up to $7,500. With a lawyer, you can sue for the full amount plus accrued interest. You'd have to pay the attorney, though. You should decide and act immediately as statutes of limitation might be applicable. Her defense will be, "It was a gift." So you must have written evidence showing that it was a loan.
