Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I really am not sure what type of lawyer I should direct the following question to...so please forward it to the correct type if I get it wrong. I owe a ton of back child support. I would like a passport to travel abroad, but I know I cannot get one. If my ex agrees, is there a way to move my debt out of the hands of the Child Support agency into another legal debt vehicle like a trust or something? Of course it would have to be satisfactory to my ex knowing I was legally bound to pay it.

I will tell you that it does not matter what type of lawyer you can get... The way you move the debt out of the Child Support Agency is to pay it. ... This may sound judgmental but you can't pay back child support but you want to travel abroad? So you can run around the world traveling while your kids are deprived of support that the citizens of the State believe they deserve.
You can't move debt into any other "vehicle" to avoid paying it ... You are legally obligated to pay it now and appear not too with the State attempting to collect it, saying you're legally bound in another process is just hollow platitudes because it sounds like you owe a ton and not attempting to resolve it. The best way to get a passport is resolve it...
