unable to locate

I made a personal loan for500.00 to a friend,since the due date have been unable to locate them. the person does own a residence but doesent seem to be living there.Can i file for small claims,or do i need to locate this person somehow,or can i file a lien against this persons property. thank you

you need to file in small claims court and you need to locate them to serve the lawsuit.
