Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Unauthorized CCD Charge

So I have a vendor who made a sign and asked for a deposit. I gave them the company CCD number. They never charged the deposit, BUT they did charge the card for the full amount of the work without our permission. The contract only states that 50% would be charged for the deposit. The sign was installed, but there are somethings that need to be fixed. Was it legal for them to charge the whole amount without our permission?

Re: Unauthorized CCD Charge

They can only submit what you authorized them to submit. Call the credit card company and instruct them to reverse the charge.
