Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I have been unemployed for 3 months due to a motorcycle accident. I contacted my bank where I had an auto loan for help. They agreed to lower the interest rate, but to do this they paid off the old loan and had me sign papers for a new loan with the new rate. The first set of loan docs had someone else vehicle listed as collateral so we had to have new docs drawn up. A few weeks later I received the title in my name. The bank is now asking for the title or they will declare the loan in default. Do I legally have to send them the title?
