Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Unfair repossession-not commercially reasonable sale

Eighteen months ago, I purchased a vehicle and had it financed through a Credit Union. When I became ill with cancer for 6 months, my vehicle insurance lapsed. I began receiving bills from the credit union for 900+ dollars per month!!! My payment was only 500 per month. I resumed my insurance coverage immediately (even though I was too ill to drive and the car remained in my garage undriven)but the credit union said I was delinquent by three months because I only made the principle payment and not the insurance that they added. My vehicle was repossessed after 30 days, even though I made the payments, but not the extra insurance that they added without my consent or knowledge. They sold the vehicle at 10,000. LESS than fair market value. Now, they are taking me to court. The credit union sold the account to some lame collection agency. Also, I purchased a 3rd seat (Ford Expedition)with my own $$ after the sale. It was taken with the vehicle, even though I told them that it was my personal property.
