Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Unpaid commissions

I am/was a registered representative for a broker/dealer selling financial products, mutual funds and insurance. The broker/dealer's home office is in Germany, I live in Japan as a dependant husband to my wife, who works on a military base. I have a California p.o. box provided by the government, but my state of record is Texas. The broker/ dealer is incorporated in Delaware. I have emails from the ceo/owner stating that money (commissions) were mailed, or were being wired and every other story imaginable. There is no denial that the money is owed to me. He has issued timelines (periodic payments) to pay me and has yet to fullfill his obligations. The total is only approximately $8000. I have copies of all clients paperwork and I have a copy of my contract that states payment dates etc. What are my options?

Re: Unpaid commissions

you should probably have an attorney issue a letter of demand out on your behalf to the corporate registered agent in delaware, and then proceed into negotiations for a quick settlement. if that fails, a lawsuit would be the next logical step. what areas did you make your sales to earn these commissions? that may help determine proper jurisdiction for your case.

I think the vernacular is "Sue the Bastard." Seriously, an attorney would make a demand letter and if that doesn't scare the firm into paying you, a lawsuit would be necessary. Where the suit would have to be brought, would have to be determined, but some attorneys have contacts all over the country. Seek out someone like that.
