What can i do about my wages at work were garnished a total of $600 for a court fine. when i went down to DMV to renew my drivers license they told me i could not do this until i paid a $600 fine and handed me a paper which had a court docket number on it. I went home and got together my check stubs showing the full amount of $600 was already taken out months ago. So i went to the courthouse and got sent to alliance one they said my Balance was $563.50 and that i still owed a remainder of $36.50. I showed my check stubs to them They said well yes i can see they took it out,
but it was never received. so I paid (again) $36.50 out of my pocket so i could go back to the dmv and renew my almost expired license. court gave me an absract/Reciept showing i paid the balance of $36.50 and the case# which matched the one on my check stubs. so i asked my manager Linda which in turn asked the owner Nick about reimbursing me the $36.50 Nick the owner said" There is nothing he can do about it the accountant takes care of all that" he wont help by even giving me the Accountants Phone number. I know $36.50 is Nothing to Nick he owns part of every business you can think of, I should not have to pay this again. what can i do?

Keep going back until you get it resolved.
If I understand you question correctly, everything is now okay with the courts and DMV, but your company took $36.50 out of your paycheck and did not forward it to the state. If you would have run down to the DMV the same day you got your paycheck I would have guessed that payment was still being processed. You, however, stated you waited months. You may want to check with the court one more time to see if it finally went through and there is an overpayment now. Otherwise, it looks like your company still has it. If this is the case, I would politely remind your boss of the situation and see if he looks into it. Since it is not worth losing you job over $36.50, I would not be overly aggressive in trying to get it back.
