Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I will be filing my bankruptcy forms to the US Bankruptcy Court next week. Just yesterday I was served a Summons from Chase Card Services for a case they've filed with the local Superior Court for a "Complaint for Money". I have 30 days to respond. Since I'm filing my official forms next week, do I need to do anything further or will that process put a stop to their suit?

Just file the bankruptcy and you're good.

If you filled out the forms correctly, Chase will get notice of the bankruptcy and the lawsuit will stop.
Mr. Stone's answer is correct, but it's still a good idea to file a notice of the bankruptcy with the court Chase filed in.
