Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
A year ago my mother sent me money to help us move. It was NOT a loan. She sent it to me as a money order. My mother pasted away this month and I found out she had borrowed the money from her boyfriend to send me. I had no idea until after her passing. He is saying I now owe him. Is this true?

It was a gift from your mother and her responsibility to repay. You don't legally owe her boyfriend the money.
